Are there waiting periods?

There are no waiting periods for preventive treatments such as cleanings and exams. There are waiting periods on periodontics, minor and major restorative procedures.

Will there be a deductible?

In some cases, there is a deductible depending on the plan option you choose.

What is the annual maximum?

The annual maximum will vary depending on the plan you choose.

Are implants covered?

No, implants are not a covered benefit under these plans.

Is orthodontia (braces) covered?

Orthodontic services are not covered under our individual dental plans.

Is tooth whitening covered?

Cosmetic procedures such as tooth whitening are not covered under our individual dental plans.

Are white (composite) fillings covered?

Yes, composite fillings are covered for anterior teeth but on posterior teeth the plan will pay the applicable amount it would have paid for an amalgam filling with varying co-pays depending on the plan you choose.

How long is my policy in effect?

Once enrolled, your policy and rates are effective for 12 consecutive months from your effective date, as long as premium payments are made on time and all other conditions of the policy are met. Thereafter, your policy will renew for an additional 12-month period upon payment of renewal premium, unless Delta Dental declines to renew the policy, in accordance with the terms of the policy.

If necessary, can I cancel my policy?

Yes, this policy can be cancelled by submitting a written cancellation request, as indicated in your policy. Delta Dental will refund any premium paid, but not yet earned due to policy cancellation. The refund will be based on the number of full months that remain in the 12-month policy period.
