Client Knowledge

Create your own reports in less time than sending e-mail!

Client Knowledge is a self-service, cutting-edge reporting tool that allows secure access to the dental benefits data of experience-rated groups anytime, anywhere. This tool allows you to customize reports by selecting many of the report parameters and the level of detail required. Available reports include the types and number of treatments enrollees have received in a given time period, treatment savings accrued as a result of using Delta Dental participating dentists, and the financial and demographic data needed for ERISA reporting. Client Knowledge is accessible by logging onto the Benefit Manager Toolkit.*

*Not all groups have access to Client Knowledge.

Consumer ToolkitSM

Enrollees can access their own benefit, claims, and eligibility information online anytime!

Delta Dental’s Web-based Consumer ToolkitSM enables enrollees to access their own information whenever they want. They can also use this toolkit to search our dentist directories, print claim forms, and read oral health tips. Enrollees can register online at Consumer Toolkit.

Frequently asked questions about eligibility

How do I make eligibility changes?
You can make eligibility changes via enrollment card, cartridge, diskette, magnetic tape, modem transfer, or EDI transmission. In addition, we have a Web-based Benefit Manager Toolkit that allows your group to update eligibility information online.

Enrollment cards should be sent to:
Eligibility Processing
Delta Dental
27500 Stansbury
Farmington Hills, MI 48334

Cartridges, diskettes, magnetic tapes, modem transfers or EDI transmissions should be sent to:
Group Administration
Delta Dental
P.O. Box 30416
Lansing, MI 48909-7916

How long does it take for these changes to be available in Delta Dental’s system?
We enter eligibility changes within 48 hours of receiving electronic media. We load them into our system that night, and they’re available the next business day.

We enter eligibility changes within two to four days of receiving enrollment cards. They’re available in our system as soon as they’re entered.

Can we update our eligibility ourselves?
Yes. Our Benefit Manager Toolkit allows our groups' Human Resources staffs to review, add and update eligibility online. Although there is no cost to use this Toolkit, users must register at https://www.toolkitsonline.com.

How far back can I reinstate an employee’s eligibility?
Our groups can make retroactive adjustments to their eligibility records up to 12 months after the eligibility date. This time limit is subject to a paid claims search. We bill our groups for retroactive additions and credit them for retroactive deletions that fall within this time limit.

How do I put an employee on COBRA?
Simply indicate on the enrollment card the date that the subscriber is eligible for COBRA benefits.

Why do the name, Social Security number, and date of birth all have to match for a claim to be processed?
Because we cover millions people, some of them may have the same name or date of birth. Our claims processing system uses all three elements to ensure that we process and pay claims correctly.

Who do I contact about billing questions?
If you have questions about your bill, you can call our Accounting department at (800) 838-8863 and one of our Accounting clerks will assist you.

How do I order group materials such as certificates, summaries and eligibility update forms?
With the initial shipment of forms, we enclose material request forms. Just complete the form and return it to us. We’ll fill your order within 15 days and include more re-order forms with your shipment.
