Information is password-protected. To use the Dental Office Toolkit, dentists are required to use a password. How does it work?

When you first register, you will participate in a process that will create a password, and provide us with information to authenticate you in the future. As part of this process, you’ll be asked to select and answer a personal/secret question that will allow us to identify you in the future when making a password change.

As an additional security measure, the Toolkit will prompt offices to create a new password periodically. These changes to the password further ensure the security and confidentiality of your information. By creating a password-protected environment, we ensure that only you and those you trust in the dental office can submit information to us.

Transmissions are encrypted. As registration and claims information "travels" between your computer system and ours, it is secured using a 128-bit SSL (Secured Socket Layers) encryption program. You’ll know it’s secure, as a key or a locked "lock box," on the bottom of your browser.

With encryption, almost any possibility that information could be picked up prior to its secure storage at Delta Dental has been eliminated. While it’s impossible to guarantee absolute security, our efforts to protect your information are above and beyond industry standards, and surpass HIPAA requirements.

It’s physically protected. Delta Dental has equipped its computer system with a highly sophisticated security program in its effort to make its claims processing system as impenetrable as humanly possible.

With this level of security, you can be assured that the entire submission process is secure – beginning with the computer you submit the claim from, the network it is sent across and the systems on which it enters and is processed. Delta Dental is also committed to the following:
