$25,000 provided in flood relief for Midland area residents
Okemos, Michigan—In response to the massive flooding caused by heavy rainfall and dam failures in Midland this spring, Delta Dental of Michigan stepped up with a $25,000 donation to the United Way of Midland County’s Rise Together Fund.
In the midst of a global pandemic, mid-Michigan residents were hit doubly hard. Thousands of residents were left without homes, businesses were destroyed and livelihoods were swept away.
The fund is focused on assisting those identified as the asset limited, income constrained, employed (ALICE) population.
“Helping communities where we do business is part of who we are,” said Goran Jurkovic, CEO for Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. “The Midland area is home to our customers, providers and some of our employees. It’s our hope that together, with our communities, mid-Michigan will be able to quickly rebound and rebuild.”
The Rise Together Fund was established by The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation and will match support dollar-for-dollar up to $500,000.
