College tuition discount benefits Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana employees, their families
Okemos, Michigan— Many companies offer tuition benefits to employees, but few extend such a valuable benefit to their children, and also nieces, nephews or godchildren.
But Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana does. And nearly half of the workforce has already signed on to receive the valuable benefit.
Full time employees can earn up to one year of college tuition discounts through the Savings and Growth in Education (SAGE) Scholars Tuition Rewards program.
Beneficiaries include employees’ children, stepchildren, adopted children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews or godchildren.
The program comes with deep cost savings, given that two-thirds of families restrict their child’s choice of schools based on cost, and 80 percent expect to incur up to $50,000 in college loan debt.
“We believe in putting excellent private colleges and universities within reach of those who might not have dreamed such options were possible,” said Toby Hall, Senior Vice President, Chief Actuary and Chief Data Officer for Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. “This program will allow more families to invest in education and help build healthy, smart, vibrant communities."
Employees who enroll receive 3,000 points each year they work for the company, starting the day they enroll.
Each point represents a discount equivalent to $1, with a maximum discount of up to one year’s tuition spread equally over four years of undergraduate, full-time education at one of nearly 400 colleges and universities participating with SAGE.
“Boasting one of nation’s largest network of dentists, Delta Dental is the consummate partner to assist SAGE in our efforts to make college more affordable for American families,” said A.J. Healy, SAGE Director of Corporate Marketing.
